This average length course has very thick rough lining its fairways. The large greens are undulating and hard to read. "Golf Digest" rated this course 47th best out of "America's 100 Greatest Courses" for the years 1995-96, and 52nd in 1997-98. The same publication also rated it as the "Best in State" course for the years 1995 through 1998. Other awards include "GOLF Magazine's" ranking of 67th among the "Top 100 Courses in the U.S." for 1995, and 61st for 1997 and 70th for 1999. "GOLFWEEK" rated it 22nd in the category of "America's 100 Best Classical Courses" in 1997 and 1998, and 24th in 1999. Caddies are mandatory is you choose to walk the course. The men's par is actually 69, and the ladies par is actually 75. This exclusive club prefers not to publish its cart or green fees.
