The Pointe Golf Club in Powells Point
This is a links-style course where the wind plays a major factor, so be prepared to use every club in your bag. One of the course's best assets is the quality of the putting surfaces. The greens are considered the finest on the East Coast by the club's personnel. The fairways are wide open, and water hazards come into play on twelve holes. The signature hole, located next to Currituck Sound, is #6, a 454-yard, par 4, requiring a blind tee shot over a pond to a fairway whose right side is lined with wetlands and sand bunkers, then an approach shot to a kidney-shaped and undulating green.
