The Lakes Country Club - Course 1 in Palm Desert
This club has three nine hole courses that are played in three eighteen hole combinations. There are water hazards on twenty-two of the twenty-seven holes. These are beautiful courses, excellently maintained, with waterfalls and lakes everywhere. The signature hole for the North Nine is #9, a 155-yard, par 3, requiring a tee shot over water to the green. The signature hole on the East Nine is #7, a 158-yard, par 3, requiring a tee shot over water and a rock wall that member's refer to as "The China Wall." This hole has ruined many a good round. Reciprocal play is accepted during the summer months, providing the non-member's head professional makes arrangements for the tee time. All the greens are elevated and have narrow entrances.
