The Golf Club in New Albany

This course is located in a countryside setting. The fairways on the first six holes are conventional, the middle six holes are tight and tree lined, and the final six holes are links-style. The greens are sloped and maintained as fast as they can get. Water hazards (creeks, ponds, and a lake) come into play on nine holes. The signature hole is #16, a 200-yard, par 3. "Golf Digest" ranked this course 28th best out of "America's 100 Greatest Courses" 1995-96, and 26th best for 1997-98. It was also rated as the 2nd "Best in State" course for the years 1995 through 1998. In addition, "GOLF Magazine" chose it 20th among the "Top 100 Courses in the U.S." for 1995, 21st in 1997 and 27th in 1999. In the category of "America's 100 Best Modern Courses" it was selected 7th by "GOLFWEEK" in 1997, 4th in 1998 and 3rd in 1999. Guests are not allowed to play without the presence of a club member.
