Stonehenge Golf Club in Fairfield Glade
This hilly course features narrow, tree-lined fairways and water hazards that come into play on several holes. "Golf Digest" rated this course 14th among the "Top 75 Resort Courses" for 1992, and 40th best under the 1996 category of "America's Top 75 Affordable Courses." The same publication named it the 7th "Best in State" Course for 1995-96, and the 5th best for 1997-98. The signature hole is #14, a 161-yard, par 3, requiring a tee shot from off an elevated tee box located on a bluff high above a green that is protected by a fifteen-foot, layered-stone retaining wall running alongside the left and rear of the green. The resort hosted the annual Tennessee State Open for eight consecutive years from 1985 to 1992. This club is located within Fairfield Glade Resort.
