St. Cloud Country Club in Saint Cloud
This course installed a new irrigation system in 1997, which has made the rough more difficult. Additional improvements, such as more bunkers and the enlargement of others, re-built greens and larger tee boxes, are planned for 1998. Locals say that this is a very beautiful course and the Mississippi River comes into play on four holes. The signature hole is #3, a 174-yard, par 3, requiring a tee shot to a green with the Mississippi menacingly flowing behind it. The 5,647-yard men's tee also has a ladies' course rating of 72.8 and a slope of 124. The Minnesota state high school tournament is held here each June.
