San Juan Hills Country Club in San Juan Capistrano
This course is challenging even though it is not very long. The greens are moderate in size and speed. The fairways are somewhat tight, and the rough is cut low. Water comes into play on a few holes. A difficult hole is #9, a 198-yard, par 3, requiring the tee shot to avoid water on the right and an out-of-bounds area behind the green. Ron Fream, Peter Thomson and Michael Wolveridge redesigned the course in 1981.
