Rancho San Marcos Golf Course in Santa Barbara
Eleven years went into the planning, design and development of this course. The front nine is spread across a valley floor surrounded by a hillside vineyard and a plethora of live oaks. The back nine features three par 5's and back-to-back par 3's. There is an ascending plateau that provides golfers with stunning views of Lake Cachuma and bluffs where bald eagles nest. One of the most challenging holes on the course is #12, a 528-yard, par 5, which is depicted as risk/reward off the tee. Bunkers and a rock face to the right of the green guard the approach. This green offers some of the greatest movement on the course.
