Philadelphia Cricket Club in Flourtown
This private cricket and golf club has water hazards coming into play on several holes. This club has been listed by the USGA as one of the first 100 clubs established in the U.S. In addition, "GOLF Magazine" recognized it in their 1995 list of "The First 100 Clubs in America." The 1907 and 1910 U.S. Opens were held on the original nine hole course. Although it is at another location, it is still owned by the club, but not used. "Golf Digest" rated this as the 10th "Best in State" course for 1995-96. In addition "GOLFWEEK" ranked it 83rd among "America's 100 Best Classical Courses" for 1998, and 93rd in 1997. Reciprocal players must request tee times at least two weeks in advance.
