Old Waverly Golf Club in West Point
This course, built on gently rolling terrain, features two beautiful lakes coming into play on a number of holes. The greens are exceptionally large, and the wide fairways are open. The signature hole is #16, a 422-yard, par 4, known as a favorite among club members because of its breathtaking scenery. "Golf Digest" rated it 88th best out of "America's 100 Greatest Courses" for 1995-96, and 89th best for 1997-98. The same publication also rated it as the #1 "Best in State" course for the years 1995 through 1998. In addition, "GOLFWEEK" ranked it 60th among "America's 100 Best Modern Courses" for 1997, 49th for 1998 and 41st for 1999. This club hosted the 1999 LPGA U.S. Open.
