Old Newbury Golf Club in Newbury
This course offers spacious landing areas in the fairways. The greens are small, and five of them are elevated. Water hazards (creeks and tidal ponds) come into play on a number of holes. The signature hole is #9, a 207-yard, par 3, requiring an uphill tee shot to a green that is elevated forty-five feet above the tee box. Furthermore, a seventy foot high hickory tree is growing 100 yards from the tee that is almost impossible to avoid. The course is only open to the public Monday through Thursday and part of Friday.
