National Golf Links of America in Southampton



The is a Scottish links-style course. Many holes feature blind shots, and water hazards (ponds) come into play on at least five separate occasions. There are 365-sand bunkers on this course. In 1922, the club hosted The Walker Cup Matches. "GOLF Magazine" ranked this course 11th out of the "Top 100 Courses in the U.S." for 1997, 12th in 1995 and 13th in 1999. "GOLFWEEK" selected it 7th among "America's 100 Best Classical Courses" for 1997 and 1998, and 8th in 1999. Perry Maxwell and Robert Trent Jones have done redesigns on this course.
