Mahogany Run Golf Course in Saint Thomas
This course took a major hit from Hurricane Marilyn in 1995 and was without power for three months and without a phone for six months. The course has rebounded nicely and cruise boats regularly send golf groups across the islands to play. President Clinton even played a round recently. The design includes hilly fairways and small greens. The signature hole is #3, a 200-yard, par 3, requiring a tee shot over water to an elevated green. Hole #13, #14 and #15 are so challenging that anyone who plays all three without a penalty stroke is awarded a special "Devil's Triangle" poster and certificate at the pro shop. The course is fully irrigated now and extremely green.
