Kahkwa Club in Erie
This long course was built on rolling terrain and has greens that are sloped and fast. There are mature oak, maple, apple, and fir trees lining almost all the fairways. This club hosted the LPGA U.S. Open 1972. The only water hazard that comes into play is a man-made pond on hole #3, a 151-yard, par 3. The course is a typical Donald Ross design, with many mounds and sand bunkers. You must use a caddie if you choose to walk the course. Guests must be accompanied by a member in order to play this course. This club was first founded in 1893 and has been listed by the USGA as one of the first 100 clubs in the U.S. In addition, it was recognized by "GOLF Magazine" in their 1995 listing of "The First 100 Clubs in America."
