Grand Geneva Resort & Spa - Course 2 in Lake Geneva

This resort, which was named to "GOLF Magazine's" 1998 list of "Silver Medal Resorts," features two regulation eighteen hole courses that were formerly part of the Hugh Hefner Playboy Club. The Highlands Course is one of the first Pete Dye and Jack Nicklaus creations that feature Scottish influences throughout its design. There is heather-type rough and large bunkers protecting the borders of the fairways. A difficult hole is #11, a 594-yard, par 5, which features a double dogleg fairway and a series of sand bunkers sitting in the fairway ready to snatch your tee shot. Bob Cupp completed a redesign of this course in 1997, completely revamping it into its current links-style design. The Brute Course's huge rolling greens average over 8,000 square feet in size. "GOLF Magazine" described this course as "a behemoth that ranks among the toughest layouts in the Midwest." An eye-catching hole is #9, a 421-yard, par 4, which requires a tee shot over a creek before it finishes alongside Grand Geneva Lake.
