Gemstone Plantation Country Club in Franklinton

This course opened its front nine holes to members in August of 1997, and the entire eighteen hole layout during the spring of 1998. This scenic course takes advantage of the hills in the area that allow changes in elevation. The design also includes numerous stately live oak trees in play. There is about a thirty-foot change in elevation throughout the course. About half the holes have water, but it really only comes into play on about six holes. One of the toughest holes is a par 3, which measures 170 yards from the back tees. This hole plays to an island green. Golfers will have an adequate target in the form of a 10,000-square foot island, which includes 6,000 to 7,000-square feet of putting surface. The course will offer a challenge for the scratch golfer, but will be enjoyable for any level player. The yardage for the course is measured to the back of the greens, therefore, actual yardage will vary based upon pin placement.
