Carlton Oaks Country Club in Santee
This course was rated the 19th toughest public or resort course in the U.S. by the "Men's Journal" in 1993. There are water hazards that come into play on half the holes. The course was redesigned in 1989 by Perry Dye. The most difficult hole is #4, a 460-yard, par 4, requiring a long an accurate tee shot up a dogleg right fairway, then an approach shot past the mammoth sand bunker protecting the green.
