Birchwood Farms Golf & Country Club in Harbor Springs
This facility opened nine new holes in 1998, giving it three nine holes courses that can be played in the three eighteen hole combinations. The courses are located in the outback of northern Michigan and are very straightforward. The fairways on all three combinations are tree lined, while the greens are fast and undulating. Water hazards come into play on several holes on each of the layouts. Overall, the scenery and serenity on this course is its major selling point. Perhaps one of the most spectacular holes is located on the Woods Course. Hole #1, a 352-yard, par 4, is perched high above and overlooks Lake Michigan and the surrounding islands. This club's pro shop was voted by other private clubs in the state as being the "1996 Merchandiser of the Year." The 5627-yard men's tee for the Farms/Birches course also has a ladies' course rating of 72.6 and slope of 123;
