A. C. Read Golf Course - Course 5 in Pensacola
This military facility has an executive eighteen hole course, a nine hole par 3 course, and three other nine holes courses that are played in three eighteen hole combinations. The three nine hole courses are tight and have narrow, well-bunkered fairways. There are many oak trees lining the fairways, and water hazards come into play on several holes. The main challenges on these courses are the many well-placed greenside bunkers. The A.C. Read Executive Course is a demanding course with some long par 3's. However, the tree-lined fairways afford generous landing areas. There are no water hazards, but there are several sand bunkers incorporated into the design. The Saufley Field Course is a par 3 design that is excellent for beginners. The longest hole measures 150 yards, and there is water on two holes. The green fee shown for the Saufley Field Course is good for all-day play.
